Welcome to Church of the Valley

THIS SUNDAY AT CHURCH OF THE VALLEY: Easter declares God’s forgiveness for all who trust in Jesus. Next Sunday Pastor Mike gets practical about forgiving each other as the Lord forgave us in part 1 of the 2 part message “Top 10 Reasons to Forgive.” It is truly good to be forgiven and to forgive.
NEXT SUNDAY IN WORSHIP: Pastor Mike shares the next 5 of the “Top 10 Reasons to Forgive.” Forgiveness is the healing tonic the Lord shared with us for rejuvenation of our relationships. We also celebrate Communion as we gather around the Lord’s Table in remembrance of His great love and mercy to us all on the cross.

MINISTRY AND SEASONAL OPPORTUNITIES

JOIN US AT THE NEXT DISCOVER COV SEMINAR WITH PASTOR MIKE! Have you thought about becoming a member of Church of the Valley? Join Pastor Mike at the next Discover COV seminar on Saturday, May 17. Come and learn more about what it means to love and follow Jesus in commitment, about Baptism and Communion, church membership, and what we believe and how we are trying to live that out before God and with each other. It’s also a great time to get acquainted. Discover COV begins at 8:30 AM and concludes at 12:30 PM. The seminar includes lunch. To reserve your place you may register today at the Welcome Center after both Worship services. You may also register by calling Kathy at the church office
760-247-6494, ext. 245, or by email at kathyb@churchofthevalley.net. We would love to have you join us!

COV FEUD ROYALE: Small groups, Mission Teams, families, or ANY group of five people with a desire to show what they know, and prove their smarts. Sign up for the youth group's major fundraiser, The COV FEUD ROYALE. We're looking for teams of five willing to battle it out in a game similar to the popular TV show "Family Feud" on Saturday June 7. $100 per team (that’s $20 per-person) to sign up. Deadline to enter is Sunday, May 25.

OUR COV SHORT TERM MISSIONS TRIP IS COMING SOON!  Broken Arrow Bible Ranch is excited that the long overdue flooring replacements will be a reality this coming May. Though COV is providing the labor, we are also obligated to provide for the cost of materials. In addition to this, the cost of food and transportation will need to be funded. While those on the work team are willing to pay for some of the food and transportation costs, any help with these expenses and the cost of materials, will be much appreciated. Each Sundays through May 4, a missions team member will be available at each service to provide further information and receive your cash or check donation. Look for the Broken Arrow Bible Ranch display at each service location. When making a donation by check, make it out to Church of the Valley and put “Easter Missions Project” on the memo line. Your annual giving record will show your contribution. Donations can also be made in the offering plate and at the church office. On behalf of those enjoying wonderful new flooring--THANK YOU.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING SOON! June 23 – 27 Volunteer sign ups have started. Get your sailor hats ready to sail the sea and come see us at our VBS table after each service to sign up to be a volunteer. Remember when filling out the volunteer sign up sheet to give your top 3 choices because grade and position is NOT guaranteed. You will be assigned due to availability and need. If you have any questions you may contact Kim Heck at 760-247-6494 ext. 230 or email kimh@churchofthevalley.net. Please pray for all the volunteers that help out with VBS as we come together to teach the children about Jesus.

COLLEGE/CAREER GROUP MEETS MONDAY EVENINGS AT 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Do you know someone who thinks Darwin's theories have killed
Christianity? Do you struggle with the issue yourself? This week we will discuss the underlying assumption of the naturalistic worldview: can life arise from non-life? Please join us Monday evening, March 24, as we continue our study based on The Case For Faith by Lee Strobel. We'll be taking a serious look at this topic and many other common objections to Christianity. We also spend time each week talking about the challenges and joys we experience in our walk with and witness for Christ. For more information, please text Randy Lee at 760-524-0260 or call 760-946-1935.
