The Lost Parables of Jesus: The Lost Coin
Continuing with His sermon, Jesus adds a second parable connected with the one previous and, we will see next week, to the one following about God’s Heart. This time Jesus recognizes the females in the crowd. Particularly, most likely, those who are widowed or alone and have limited resources. In this parable, Jesus really shows how much he cares by making sure everyone in the crowd is represented as a target of God’s love. One really has to go back to the beginning to see why Jesus cares so much, picking up on a question that the Bible asks, “What is man that you are mindful of him?”
