The Crisis Ministry serves approximately 800 people per month in the high desert through its Food Pantry and Clothing Closet. Crisis Ministry is open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday  (please arrive by 11:30 PM to be able to be processed by 12:00 PM). Crisis Ministry will help a family six times in a calendar year from its resources. The Crisis Ministry Food Pantry will provide a household, that is assisted, with three days worth of groceries for every member of the household each time a household is assisted. A Drivers License or State issued ID card is required to obtain assistance. The Crisis Ministry also has a supply for those who need portable food and provides blankets and coats (while supplied last) during the winter. In order to obtain assistance a representative from the household must come to the Crisis Ministry. The Crisis Ministry is run completely by volunteers. House calls are not available from this program. Calls to the Crisis Ministry can only be accepted during the Crisis Ministry working hours at (760) 247-6494 x 232. People are referred to the Crisis Ministry from other service organizations all over the high desert. The Crisis Ministry is known for treating people kindly and with dignity when they come for assistance.
